Community Groups Benefit from Grant Funding

For the past four years, Beaver Municipal Solutions has awarded over $225,000 in funds to local community organizations for their project or activity through our formal grant program. This bi-annual initiative supports not-for-profit groups operating in our member communities. At the December Board meeting, Directors approved the recommendation from Administration to provide the following grant awards, totalling $39,238: 

  • Bags of Love East Central (Ryley location) ($1,500) for supplies for local children entering foster care 
  • Beaverhill Players Society ($2,000) for front entrance carpet replacement 
  • Big Picture Theatre Foundation ($1,000) for operational expenses for the junior theatre group 
  • The Bruce Sports and Stampede Association ($2,000) to replace stolen tools 
  • Friends of Tofield Students Society ($2,000) for Grab and Go Breakfast program 
  • Holden Junior Cattlemen Society ($2,500) for annual cattle show 
  • Holden Lodge ($500) for artw ork 
  • Holden Seniors Club ($1,500) for light fixtures 
  • Kids Spot Playgroup ($750) for toys, snacks and rentals 
  • Ol’ Blue Community Coach Society ($2,500) for operating expenses 
  • ROARS ($1,500) for documentary film 
  • Sunshine Villa Residents Association ($1,500) for storage shed 
  • Tofield Floor Curling ($1,000) for tournament costs 
  • Tofield Golden Club ($1,000) for appliances, tables and stools 
  • Tofield Ag Society ($2,500) for ambulance standby 
  • Tofield and Area Health Services Foundation ($3,938) for annual fundraiser entertainment 
  • Tofield-Ryley and Area Food Bank Society ($2,000) for food hamper staples 
  • Tofield Snowgeese Jr Forest Wardens ($2,000) for trailer 
  • Viking Handi-Van Society ($2,500) for operating expenses 
  • Viking Initiation Hockey Team ($750) for “Hunter” (Oilers Mascot) to attend tournament 
  • Viking Preschool Association ($2,000) for fundraiser entertainment 
  • Viking School Parent Council ($2,000) for tow n clean up project 
  • WECAN Food Basket Society of Alberta ($300) for driver honorarium
