Pandemic Update; Taking Action on Mud Control

Pandemic Update

Beaver Municipal Solutions is working hard to enact best practices of social distancing, operational controls to limit interactions, hygiene and use of personal protective equipment to protect our front-line staff and customers during this COVID-19 pandemic. Our landfill and transfer station sites continue to operate on our regular hours. Our administration offices remain closed to the public.

We have installed an intercom at our scale at the landfill. Customers do not need to press the button to talk to staff as the intercom is activated from inside the scale house. To reduce the potential transmission of the virus, we are no longer accepting cash payments at any of our locations. Payment can be made by cheque, credit or debit. Sanitized personal protective equipment is available in a tote at the scale for customer use. When finished with these items, they are to be returned to the “used” tote to be sanitized for reuse.

If you need to reach someone from our site, or have questions about current operations or items for disposal, please call our main line at 780.663.2038 and leave a clear message with your name and phone number. Staff are regularly retrieving these messages and returning calls. Alternatively, you can contact us at info@beavermunicipal.com.

Please check our website and Facebook page for updates.

Taking Action on Mud Control

While of chief concern at the present time is continuing safe waste disposal operations during this pandemic, we are still working hard to ensure negative impacts from our operations are mitigated to reduce impact on the surrounding community. Spring is almost here and as the snow begins to melt, there will be mud. We have implemented new strategies to deal with it this spring.

We will be implementing the use of several mud shaker mats to reduce the amount of mud being tracked onto Hwy 854. We have also purchased rubber blades for our skid steers to better be able to clean any mud that does happen to track on the highway.

We are committed to operating safely during this pandemic and doing our best to reduce the negative impacts of our operations on the neighbouring community.

We are all reminded that with the upcoming holiday weekend, we must still avoid gatherings outside our immediate household, find ways to connect while physical distancing & worship in ways that don’t put people at risk.

Stop the spread. Stay home. Stay safe.
